Who We Are
Southeastern Shade is a which means we have been building shade structures across Georgia for more than two decades. We started because outdoor spaces here needed something better than a folding umbrella and a hope that the clouds would cooperate. Over the years that idea grew into a company that works on school playgrounds, city parks, commercial properties and private backyards throughout the Southeast.
We are based in Lilburn at 4045 Five Forks Trickum Rd SW, and we still run the business the way a family business runs: the people who quote your project are the people who care how it turns out. We do not subcontract our reputation out to strangers.
Everything we do comes back to one goalcreating shaded retreats that raise the quality of outdoor living. A canopy over a playground means kids can actually use it in July. A structure over a parking lot means customers walk into your store instead of driving past it. That is the practical side of what we build, and it matters as much to us as how the finished structure looks.
Shade for Schools, Parks, Lots and Patios
We work across four areas, and each one asks for something different from a shade structure. A school has clearances and traffic patterns to respect. A park needs a structure that sits comfortably in a natural setting. A retail lot has to handle vehicle turning circles and signage lines. A backyard patio has to look like it belongs to the house.
- Educational institutions β canopies and shade structures that elevate learning environments, from playgrounds and lunch areas to walkways between buildings.
- Recreational environments β shade for parks, pools, ball fields and gathering areas, so people can be outside in nature without the harsh glare of the sun.
- Commercial spaces and parking lots β stylish, functional structures that define your business space and keep customers and vehicles out of the heat.
- Residential β patios, decks, pool decks and play areas, bringing the comfort of shade home.
Each of these has its own page on this site with detail on materials, spans, fabric options and what the process looks like from first site visit to final inspection. If you are not sure which category your project falls into, tell us what the space is used for and we will point you in the right direction.
How We Work: Integrity, Safety and Community
Integrity, safety and community are not wall decorations for us. Safety in particular shapes the whole job β these are structures that sit above children, shoppers and families, often in public spaces, and they have to be engineered and installed to stand up to Georgia wind, rain and heat for years.
Integrity shows up in the quoting. We tell you what the structure will actually cost and what it will actually do. If a smaller structure serves your space better than the one you asked about, we will say so. Client satisfaction is how we have kept working in the same communities for this long β a lot of our projects come from someone who saw a canopy we put up somewhere else and tracked us down.
Community is the part we are proudest of. The structures we build end up in the places where people meet: the school playground, the neighborhood park, the front of a local business. We want every outdoor space in the Southeast to be a fair test of craftsmanship and function together.
What Our Customers Say About Their Shade Structures
Our playground was unusable by mid-morning in the spring. Southeastern Shade installed a canopy over the whole equipment area and the kids are out there through the afternoon now. The crew worked around our schedule and left the site clean.
We had them build a shade structure over the customer parking area at the front of our building. It looks sharp, it matched the colors we asked for, and the spaces underneath it are the first ones taken every single day.
